In 1985, the Long Hill Township Police Department was the first police department in New Jersey to be accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA). During the following years: 2001, 2004, 2007, 2010, 2013 The Long Hill Township Police Department was again awarded National Accreditation status by CALEA. In 2006 the Police Department received accreditation status from the New Jersey State Association of Chiefs of Police and became re-accredited through this state program in June of 2016. The Long Hill Township Police Department has always strived to maintain a level of superior law enforcement professionalism and dedication to duty and service. We believe participation in this process will help us to better serve our community and the public.
We have an officer certified to inspect and advise on Children's Car Seats.
Since December 1, 2001, all children under 8 years old must use a car seat.
